Last school year….
According to last year’s pre/post surveys, after our program,
youth held greater confidence in their ability to
cook healthy meals
and snacks for themselves.
More youth agreed that
they live a healthy life.
Students reported knowledge gains in
basic knife skills and cooking techniques.
And greater confidence that they could
follow a recipe to prepare a dish.
DFA youth were more comfortable
talking about their emotions
and how they feel inside.
More were confident they were a
good leader.
Advanced students earned
$13,050
in stipends last year.
DFA Student
"They helped me develop myself and my social skills. My teachers cared for me and showed me love when I was going through a rough patch. I'm happy to have a 'home' here."
DFA Student
"DFA has given me a new family… I was able to create new friendships and have the best conversations. I became more social. DFA is a vibe."
