Brandon K. Scarber

Program Associate

Brandon K. Scarber is a product of the City of Detroit, MI, proud father, DPS Alumni having attended M. L. King Jr. Senior HS (c/o 2004) in the MSAT (Math, Sciences, and Applied Technology) program.  

Brandon continued his education via a master’s degree for Public Administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2013 with a concentration in Non-Profit Leadership; and a Bachelor of Arts for Economics & Business from Kalamazoo College in 2008.

He has worked in education for over 20 (+) years, spending most of that time with Michigan State University as a Senior Admissions Counselor, recruiting students based on academics throughout Metro Detroit. 

He is also a College Professor at Washtenaw Community College, where he teaches Entertainment Law. 

He recently began working with the Detroit Food Academy, as a Program Associate. He also volunteers with Warrior Academy mentoring young Black male students. 

In the past, he has volunteered with multiple community-based organizations in the City of Detroit, and in Kalamazoo, MI; doing jobs & skills training for youth, mentoring, tutoring, and coaching sports activities (primarily basketball). 

Presently, Brandon is active in his Detroit, MI community, assisting young adults through education and mentorship. He is a proud single father of three beautiful daughters and the caretaker for his mother.
